LATAM Departs The Oneworld Alliance and Retains Qantas Agreement
Due to LATAM’s new alliance with Delta, LATAM will be departing from the oneworld alliance, effective 1 May 2020.
The airline will maintain their existing agreement with Qantas and the majority of the oneworld members (British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, S7 and SriLankan Airlines), and continue to offer the following benefits to their customers:
- Earn and redeem frequent flyer miles through the respective loyalty programs
- Reciprocal lounge access
- Recognition of elite members of their respective frequent flyer programs and associated benefits
- Access to their combined route network
Updates on the development of their new alliance with Delta will be expected to be in place in the 1st half of this year.

I am traveling with Latam to Chile and have a domestic flight with Qantas. Will they respect the luggage as it was previously with One world?
