CHURCHES TOUR
Churchers and Rococo style
After breakfast, around 09:00, you will know the gold city of Ouro Preto. It was the first Brazilian city to be declared a Historical and Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It was possible because the colonial houses and the rich churches that make up the largest architectural ensemble of Brazilian baroque. Our tour will begin taking you to Saint Francis of Assisi Church, considered the masterpiece of Brazilian colonial art, designed by Aleijadinho, who also author of the Lavabo da Sacristia. It is made of soapstone. The ceiling was painted by Master Athayde. On leaving the church, you will see the street market of soapstone. Then we will go up the street to enjoy Tiradentes Square, the most important plaza of the city. Behind it, you will find the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, one of the last designs of architect Manuel Francisco Lisboa, Aleijadinho’s father. All built in the Rococo style. Then we’ll visit the Church of Our Lady of the Pillar. The incredible amount of gold altars and rich details of these altarpieces are the ultimate examples of Brazilian Baroque. In the six side altars are represented by each of social groups of the time. After, in the Historical Centre, we will visit the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary of the Blacks. The project’s origin is still a mystery, and the rounded shapes will attract your attention. Inside, there are altars dedicated to black saints and just a few of gold. Overnight in Ouro Preto.

INCONFIDÊNCIA TOUR
The Museum is installed in the building of the former Town Hall and Jail. In the pantheon of Inconfidência are the remains of 16 conspirators; in the next room, the supposed wooden beams of Tiradentes was hanged and the original book with the statement of his conviction. After, we are going to another interesting place called the Casa dos Contos. It was the former home of weighing and smelting of gold extracted in the region. It was where the ore was turned into a bar, recognized by the Empire (which coined his coat) and returned to the owner. In this process, a fifth of the amount was deducted in the form of taxes. The site also served as a prison for conspiracy. In the basement, where it was the slave quarters, there handcuffs and other instruments used to torture slaves. Ouro Preto is home to the oldest theater in Brazil in operation: the Municipal Theater, also known as the Opera House. The emperors Dom Pedro I and Dom Pedro II came to occupy the cabin for the royal family, right in front of the stage. After this historical tour, we will go back to the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and find the Oratory Museum. There are more than 160 oratorios of centuries 17-20 enchants the diversity of models and formats. Also, there are travel oratorio (portable), of almoner (used by mendicant), the hermitage (domestic chapels) and african-Brazilian, in addition to those made with shells. The image of St. Joseph Boots, in an oratory hall, is attributed to Aleijadinho. Return to Hotel. Transfer to Mariana. Overnight in Mariana.

MARIANA MUSEUM
After Breakfast, our guide will lead you to Mariana History Center. There, you will find the Town Hall and Jail. The old Plenary (still in use) conserves the original furniture and a painting of Dona Ana Maria, wife of King João V (hence the name of the city). After, you will visite the Archdiocesan Religious Art Museum. There are more than 1770 exposed liturgical objects from 18th century and upstairs you will find the works of Aleijadinho and the oil painting of the fall of Jesus on the cross by Athaíde. Continuing our tour, you will know Cathedral Basilica of the Cathedral. Now, in the Music Museum, you can see the old Palace of Bishops, which houses are one of the most important collections of Brazilian sacred music. You can also, see scores of the 18th and 19th centuries, hear samples of songs and watch old instruments. Return to your hotel. Transfer to Belo Horizonte. Overnight in Belo Horizonte.
